YAMAHA SG 1000-24
Serial No: 119928 (Made in Japan).
Very Rare in White.
Very Very Rare 24 Fret Model !!!
Yamahas answer to the Les Paul, refined and much improved. Built to the highest standards and from the finest materials, these really are more than a match for a Gibson... Better looking too !!! Made famous by no lesser a guitarist than Carlos Santana.
FEATURES:
These were made between 1983-5 and as such are very rare and collectable. Full thick mahogany body weighing in at approx 10Lbs or 4.5Kgs. Mahogany set neck with ebony fret board and pearl markers. Has the extra two frets for those screaming highs and is one of only two models in the SG range to have them. It has all the other SG1000 refinements such as the push switch tone controls that activate the split coils on the humbuckers, fancy metalwork and binding.
DESCRIPTION:
This guitar is about 20 years old but is in remarkably good condition. The white has mellowed to cream with age but that just adds to its appeal in my opinion. The body has a few minor dings and some chips around the bottom back edge and the back of one of the horns. They are only of cosmetic significance though and are not visible from the front anyway. There is nothing serious or structural. The neck is straight and true, Yamaha necks are superb to play. There is some fret wear but nothing serious and she plays very well indeed with a nice low action and no buzz. The electrics all work perfectly and the pickups are brilliant with a real gutsy sound to them. They also have the added bonus of coil taps for those screaming Strat tones when you want them. The originally gold hardware has inevitably tarnished but that's pretty standard for its age and it's all still perfectly functional. The tuners are good quality Yamaha ones and despite tarnishing work very well. The binding is also in good condition as are the inlays on the neck and headstock. There are NO cracks breaks or repairs and the guitar is standard with original knobs and pots etc. I'm pretty certain these didn't have a pick guard from new.
So that's about it then. I doubt you'll see another one of these in a hurry so here's your chance. An ordinary SG1000 on Ebay will normally fetch around £500 or up to £750 on the high street but this should be worth more. However I'm selling it with 99p start NO RESERVE !!! So you may well get a bargain. Highest bidder wins. At ANY price so get bidding!
